Ice and snow problems will be virtually eliminated assuring the most safe helicopter landing and patient transferrals. FEC Heliports will custom design your helistop with the most efficient snow melting system available. The system can run either a glycol mix system (hydronics) or an electric heat coil system under the surface of the deck to keep the deck clear from ice and snow during adverse conditions. The entire system is controlled automatically by the use of snow sensors which monitor both temperature and precipitation. When the conditions are right for snow or ice formation, the system is automatically activated; otherwise the system is idle. The snow melting systems can be installed during initial construction or at anytime in the future, which is not available with concrete pads.>
